The scariest Gaza news story from yesterday

Today I am holding Israelis and Palestinians in a space of Divine Love as they find out whether the combatants agree to end the war. The positive responses from Arab states seems to say that there is enough justice in the proposals to put them in an acceptable range. The positive responses from many other countries reinforces the message they have been trying to send to Israel: Stop the genocide. We are ready with food and medicine. Let the humanitarian surge begin.

But look out: Israel-backed militia groups potentially threaten new peace plan for Gaza | Gaza | The Guardian.

Let us keep in mind Sabra and Shatila, unforgettably described by Susan Abulhawa in Mornings in Jenin. In 1982, the U.S. had promised protection to the families of PLO fighters who left behind their parents, wives, and children when they withdrew from Lebanon in good faith. The U.S. promise was worthless. The Israeli Defense Force found a way around it by providing the conditions for a Lebanese faction to carry out the massacre of thousands of those loved ones.

Take a deep breath. Stopping the bombs will be wonderful but may not bring everything we want. I will keep holding in that space of Divine Love everyone in Gaza, including the aid and medical workers already in Gaza as well as safe entry for the food and medicine that has been waiting on the border.

And I will also pray for safety for Jews everywhere in the world, who hold so many different views on the situation but have all equally become proxies.
